A dry battery is also commonly known as an alkaline-manganese or zinc-carbon battery, and because of its structure and working principles, has become a very convenient source of power, especially when it comes to portable devices. Its structure includes positive electrode (carbon rod), a negative electrode (zinc can), and an electrolyte, which is a paste-like substance consisting of ammonium chloride and starch.
